Arts for Learning (A4L) is an online curriculum bringing rich arts lessons to students in grades pre-K through 8, while providing them with instruction and practice in strategies for reading comprehension, writing, and learning.

The site provides a comprehensive curriculum, organized into six overall units.  This deep and rich content is organized into friendly on-screen tools which allow educators to delve as deeply as they desire. We also designed built-in print-friendly stylesheets to bring the curriculum into the classroom.

We designed and built the site to showcase this research-based literacy program. The Drupal-based website showcases the six units based on a novel four-step process dubbed “I D E A”:

Identifying the intention and goals of the unit
Defining knowledge and skills with guided practice and instruction
Exploring new ideas and skills through increasingly independent practice
Assessing students to present or perform for an audience

rayogram designed this site in partnership with Young Audiences, Arts for Learning and the University of Washington, with principal support for initial design, development and implementation provided by the Starr Foundation.
