Merrill Lynch: Ensuring Diversity & Inclusion

Merrill Lynch has long been committed to maintaining a corporate environment that promotes “mutual respect, acceptance and productivity among people of varied backgrounds.”

In 1998, their Diversity & Inclusion team tapped rayogram to create a microsite ensuring each employee had the support and resources to build and advance their careers. The ML team wanted something that went beyond the usual corporate format; in fact they were intrigued by the energetic/eye-catching design of the American Music Awards first website which rayogram had created the year before.

The site promoted an open and diverse culture as a means of attracting the best people to this global company by illustrating their commitment to diversity every day—via employee profiles, a timeline of accomplishments, access to employee networks or affinity groups. The microsite was designed to ensure employees develop valuable skills and build strong ties with the communities they serve by showcasing leadership programs and employee networks.
